Wandering or Searching?

“Not all those who wander are lost.” – J.R.R. Tolkien

A famous quote many people use, even if they do not know the origin or author of it. Such is the life and death of a famous author… I guess  🙂

Yet, some who wander are indeed lost. They are lost of purpose or direction. They are wandering aimlessly with no thought of a destination or even where the next step may land. This can be a scary realm to be lost in. A realm of uncertainty. Yet, some people do not succumb to just being lost. They search for a known path or forge a new path of their own. Now they are no longer lost. They are not in familiar territory yet, but instead of being fearful of their place, they begin a new journey. No longer lost, they are now searching. Even though a destination isn’t yet known and the path is often covered, the searcher is not fearful to take the next step to see where it lands.
